Bella's Slaves

4 januari 2016 - Elko, Nevada, Verenigde Staten

Today we planned to go to Elko, a town on the edge of the Interstate 80. It was a 200 mile trip along the salt flats. We picked up a little piece of rock hard salt for Gaby, and made another layer in our sand collection for Klienemême! We read that the world record for cycling was held by a Dutchman! He broke the record at the salt flats by going at a speed of 269 kilometres/hour. We still wonder how he did it.

The road was long, so we ate our lunch/dinner in a little trucker town called Wells. We ate at this little cute restaurant called Bella. When paying for our meals we were told by the waiter that there was a brothel called Bella just a few yards around the corner. She told us that she took her mom there for a tour, and that we should do that too. I didn't know prostitution was legal in just some states in America, but apparently Nevada allows it. When we got there we felt too awkward to go inside and asked for a tour, so we decided to let the girls do their work and left. Back on the road towards Elko!

When we arrived in Elko we were kind of flabbergasted. It was quite a big town, with many hotels and motels. We booked a room at the local Super8 hotel, even though we had bad experiences with the hotel chain, but this hotel was pretty good. I felt kind of ill that night and honestly wanted to stay in bed. But we still needed to do some groceries and stuff, so we decided to go out. Mom also wanted to see a fun movie in the evening on TV, but I told her that it might be a fun thing to go to a movie theatre. We checked out the movies that the Crystal Theatre was screening that night and decided to go to the movie Sisters. We first did some groceries since it still took an hour before the movie started, but after returning from Walmart we got some popcorn and started watching. It was a very fun movie, with a good moral in it: if you say you are going to be responsible, then keep that promise.

When returning home, I felt more ill and went to take a long shower. But that didn't really help. I think I might have catched a flu, but I'm not sure! Let's hope I sleep well!
