We decided that today should be a rest day. We booked the room we were in for another night and decided to go out and explore. After some Skyping with Klienemême we went on our way towards the town itself, first, looking for a small flag to take home with us!

So we went out to the graveyard! It seems weird but yeah, that is where all the flags are hidden. On our way towards Morrow Bay we found a shop which sold flags, but we (and that is where I mean mom) wanted an old and worn one. We couldn't find any other flags on the side of the road or anything, so we went to the graveyard. And we found one. We replaced the old one with the new one we bought, and looked at some of the graves around. Then we felt kind of heavy hearted so we went onto towards Ojai.

In Ojai we wanted to eat/drink something since our hotel didn't offer breakfast in the morning. But it turned out this town was full of tourists! And cyclers. But we wanted to get something in our stomachs, so we ate fish and chips at this super expensive bistro thing. Our server was awkward, not saying anything and just standing there smiling with her braces and blonde hair. She didn't say hello, or anything. Only if we wanted something more but yeah, awkward. Then we got kind of enough from seeing all these tourists, and we went back to Carpinteria. Here we went to the beach!

Arriving at the beach with beautiful weather we wanted to take a walk along the shore. The coast side was varying with beach, pebble beaches and cliffs. We walked over the beach and got some nice pictures of the rocks and the Pacific Ocean. After strolling along the cliffs we decided to eat a pomegranate, since the one a few days before was tasting so well! We sat down watching surfers take on the big waves and oil platforms. We walked a little bit further towards the end of the trail, where it went into the woods. We took some more pictures and walked back. We wanted to wait for the sunset but it turned out the sunset wasn't as beautiful as the day before. After walking all the way back over parking spots for big RVs and seeing people being not so happy while camping we arrived at the car. We wanted some food and since the food the day before was so good at Clementine's Steak House we decided to go there again.

This time we ordered a Filet Mignon and shared it. Oh it was so delicious with that good old split pea soup (snert!)! We had some delicious pie after, mom had banana cream and I had coconut cream. After filling our tummys we went back to our room to sort out the stuff I gathered the last five months. We fitted all in our suitcases but we have to divide it evenly over our two suitcases because now my suitcases is over a 100 pounds and moms suitcase basically weighs nothing! But it all fits so we are happy about that!

Tomorrow is our last day in the States, and it is weird to think that I'm gonna be in Europe again after 5 months. I'm gonna be seeing my family again, and all my friends over there! But I am surely going to miss the people and the country over here. I made many good friends and I know a lot more than before I departed. I have grown up mentally, and now know more about how people think on the other side of the world. I know that there is a world beyond just Europe, and I am so glad that I got to experience living in that world. But it's time to go back towards my own nest, where my own responsibilities wait for me. I am so thankful for this experience and I wouldn't want to have missed it for my life! America, you are great and you have many more wonders to show me in the years that have to come.
