America vs San Diego

15 december 2015 - San Diego, California, Verenigde Staten

Yesterday we arrived in the border city of San Diego after a 3 hour drive! We drove along the coast side, where we had very nice weather for a while. There was a huge bridge over a few islands, and it was super huge!

When we arrived in San Diego we decided to go to the Super8 hotel to get a room to stay in. It's a very nice hotel, and the rooms look just like showrooms from IKEA! They were still renovating the outside but overall it is a very very nice hotel.

When we arrived yesterday we went to BJ's to eat something. I also ordered a Rootbeer Float, a typical American drink. It is basically rootbeer mixed with two scoops of vanilla ice cream! Mom really liked it, as I expected ;) after we were done eating we went to the border of America and Mexico as suggested by our big travel book made by my lovely Mutti!

The border is a thing I haven't seen before, it exists of two long walls, one made of wood (it looks like a garden fence almost) on the Mexican side. On the American side on the other hand it is a big concrete/iron wall with border patrol cars every 100 metres. It is very weird to see, because it is so unbelievable that things like this still exists.

After this experience we went back to the hotel, finding out that was only 17:30. We watched some Toy Story, well, more advertisements than actual movie... Mom fell asleep at 19:00 and after some browsing on the web I also fell asleep around 23:30. We woke up this morning at 7 and we are going to get some breakfast after I'm done taking a shower! All right folks, that's it for now! See y'all later!

Ik hoop dat jullie ook veel foto's maken want al die fantastische belevenissen passen nooit in het termijngeheugen van twee hoofden. Schitterend hoor. En erg leuk dat jullie de reisgids gebruiken. Ik hou van jullie!
